So the 22-23 Season has begun in the Oberliga 3 in NRW. The guys are 2-2 after a 2-0 start beating Solingen Graf 32-41 in solingen, and winning against BG Monheim which went into OT 57-51 . But unfortunately, things haven’t been very nice on the offensive side of the ball and the last 2 games showed the results falling to TSV Dormagen 74-66 in Dormagen ,and losing at home to Fb Leverkusen 42-52 .
This season we have a lot of variety, meaning good guards , Forwards and Centers . kids who are engaged to learn but are behind a little bit cause some are just starting basketball . so the unity is still growing and believing in their own self need to get stronger .
after 4 games Barmen is shooting 32% from the field , 29% from 3pt. From the FT line the are 45%. Taha N. leads the was with 16 ppg. and Alex K putting up 12 ppg , 32% from 3pt. Although we are Big inside , we are not getting the production we should have offensively for what we have .
Defensively, we are very decent. we are 1st or 2nd in defense after 4 games avg 41 rebounds a game and 9.25 Blk and 10.00 in steals . Elias P. is pulling down 11 rebounds a game and Jona D with 6 rebounds a game . guard defense is very active with Taha N., Alex K., getting over 2 steals per game .
So we have Lots to work on .but I believe we can compete every night and we will see improvement as we go.
